Thanks all. Yes, I’m actually going to my local car parts store to pick up a WIX filter. Spoke to Amsoil this morning, they were a but difficult, I asked to have a new oil filter sent next day air but they pushed back. They dud offer my two free quarts of my order (Signature Series) along with the replacement oil filter.

I actually didn’t realize I could remove the filter and only loose a little oil, so will buy a WIX filter today, add the new oil and filter, then change the oil filter with Amsoil when it arrives.

I haven’t seen that before, but I have noticed that the filters have recently started shipping without plastic shrink wrap on the filter as they have in the past. Probably supply chain BS.

If you’re only doing annual oil changes, you should think about putting the filter in a ziploc and/or lightly coating the mating surface with oil if it’ll be sitting on stand-by for a year. The paperboard box isn’t going to protect against corrosion.
FYI. i mentioned my oil filter not being wrapped in plastic, they informed me it’s because some of there oil filters was devolving mold as a result of moisture being trapped in the filter. They didn't said this, but now it appears they have a different problem with rust. I contacted a local disturber to try and pick up an Amsoil filter today and was told he’s seeing this problem now. So check your filters before installing.

Good to know. I’ll definitely be checking my filters. I bet a lot has to do with what distribution center ships to you. I’m in NE OK, so my stuff comes from Wichita, KS typically and I haven’t seen mold or rust thus far. Knock on wood.

Good pick up on the distribution center, the distribution center I receive my product from is at Oregon, lots of moisture there. Hopefully my replacement doesn’t have rest as well. I’ll report back as soon as I receive it.

Updated received my replacement oil filter, they sent it next day air and included one extra quart of oil for the Raptor and one for my GT500. Good customer service. This oil filter was fine
