Is anyone running these on their trucks? I bought my truck used & they were installed prior to my purchase. They are pretty cool but the one on the passenger side goes up & down quite a bit with both doors closed! Also when I go off roading or hit g outs at speed I hear a clank & I'm thinking the noise is coming from the running boards. Anyone else experience these same issues? Thinking of taking them off in favor of the fixed boards-

The ones on my Chevy used to rub, making a clanking noise over bumps. So it is probably just the way it is installed. Easy fix. I have read the reason they go up and down on their own and get stuck up or down is because of a faulty ground.

If your truck is a SCAB and If they are in good shape I may be interested... if you are getting rid of them...

What's the Fix JDub?

On my application the step was mounted too close to the chassis. So, when I hit a bump or was on wash-board roads the step rubbed when it moved ever so slightly. Instead of trying to remount the step I just notched the chassis, which now allows the step to move without rubbing.

I would do a visual if you can tell where any rubbing has occurred. If that doesn't work use a rubber mallet and tap the running board softly to replicate a bumpy road. Then try and see where it is rubbing. Check all the fasteners because the step may be loose too.

I've had these on my 2005 Hummer H2 for over five years with zero mechanical issues. Only thing I've done to mine is have them Line-X'ed for grip.
