For those with amber D2 floods mounted in the fog light housing along with white D2s how do you like them? If you have the white and ambers on at the same time do the whites wash out the amber?

What I'm thinking of doing:
Rigid 4 inch spots on either side of my license plate then d2 amber floods on the outside of fog light housing with white floods on the inside

If I don't get the amber D2s ill prob just go with white spot/ flood combo in fog light area.

Want the amber floods for driving through the mountains where it is often foggy.

Thoughts?

Yes I have the amber mounted on the outside. If you look at the close up you can see which is which. I had flood but changed to driving beam, not saying one better than the other. I have all 4 D2's wired to one upfitter switch and white does not wash out the amber.

I have the same setup. Amber D2s on the outside of the fog opening and white D2s on the inside. I have the Whelen spots on both sides of the license plate. I love this setup. I have all three pairs of lights on different switches for independent control. I think the whites overpower the ambers when on at the same time. I can actually drive without getting flashed when I have only the ambers on. The whites are too bright to drive on the road. Good luck with your setup.

Thanks for the input fellas my build date is the week of 12/9 so I'm trying to get everything in order for when she comes.

Now all I have to do is go to a few meet ups and listen to exhaust systems in person

I just ordered the same setup you're talking about except with all white and amber covers. That way if I need them I can put them on. You can't go from amber to white though. I went with all driving beam and on the 4" next to the license plate I did spot. The output comparison of the wide beam pattern seemed like it limited the lights. With driving you get almost the same as wide but further distance.

So you went with 4 white D2s but in the driving pattern instead of flood? Have you seen the flood and driving patterns in person or are you just going off what the website says?

Please let me know what you think after you get them installed.

How bright are the stock HID headlights btw?

so there is a option to use the wide angle d2 flood with clear or amber bulbs . if choosing clear wide angle for the floods as a fog light one would add the amber cover. none of the options are street legal is my understanding ,even with the wide angle fog and amber cover switched on separately.

They are offroad lights and if you look directly at the LED's you will be seeing spots. The ambers are not as bright but not sure if they are blinding to oncoming traffic.
Would amber Duallys be OK for street use? not sure.
