This discussion of American made versus foreign products has been going on for damn near my entire life.. remember when everyone was screaming about how Honda was a foreign POS and they'd never last? I remember hearing my parents and neighbors talking about how crappy Honda was and that they couldn't be relied upon… What did Honda do? Well they kept building great cheaper products and forced change upon the American car manufacturers..
I personally could not give two ***** about where the product is made, I buy quality not the location of the manufacturing plant. In my opinion, just like the organic food market, I think a lot of manufacturers jump in with the "Made in U.S.A." label and then charge a surcharge because they know there is a segment of the population who will buy it and explain away the additional cost because well… it's made here in the good ole U.S. of A!
Now before you go all getting indignant and rant about how I must be some sort of traitorous, non-U.S. loving communist; I will state that I have been defending this country for almost 25 years and have put my life on the line numerous times during that time.
I would love to buy American however with that being said, I cannot justify paying such ridiculous prices for an LED light bar that I might turn on every couple months.. maybe.
As for the point about racers running these lights, respectfully give me a friggin break. They run the lights because they are SPONSORED which means they are PAID to run them.
From what I've seen of the reviews and talking to my friends who have some of all of these, the foreign built lights by and large seem to be of equal quality and a fraction of the cost.
As always, just my $.02
