Am buying a gen 1 right now. Has a surprise hidden under the hood.

I’m buying a gen one as we speak. Has 77k on it. Had it inspected and it’s in great shape.

I noticed a whine when I first looked at it. Popped the hood to find this. Dealer has no idea.

SCABs are getting harder to find. Especially well cared for ones. If you have or can get maintenance records that would be ideal. Probably has a tune on it also.

BINGO - maintenance records. My wife recently traded in her 2013 Ford Edge with 200,000 miles on it for a Toyota Venza hybrid, and I presented the dealership with a single-page record of every oil change, air filter change, transaxle/transfer case/differential fluid change, spark plug change, shock/strut change, etc. They said they'd never seen anything like it and offered $1,000 above Kelly Blut Book value.
