So we all know that there are horn blaster train horns. I want something WILD, a couple buddies and I were sitting around and conceived an idea where we could flip a switch and change the sound of the horn, like a small tweeter that plays a certain sound like for instance a dinosaur roar or something.

Basically so when I lock my truck, and that little bleep of the horn, instead becomes a full fledged loud ass roar. Possible?!

I googled it, couldn't find anything except for video games which is not what I want.

And I kinda searched the forum so if it's been addressed before, my bad.

Imagine just messing with people, the remote start already gets em sometimes, but if you have the roar (because you have the lock it before doubling the remote start button) then it starts up… I know some will think corny, I think it would be fun for a while.

Hahahaha, I love that you actually found the FX, they're all pretty awesome, I think the first one would freak people out - which is exactly what I would be going for. nosbusa needs to enter the thread and propose the practicality of my endeavor.

I found PA systems and stuff, but that's not really what I'm looking for. It's essentially like flipping a switch (like how you switch between the train horn and regular horn), so if you beep your horn it basically triggers like a tiny MP3 player or something to blast that shit through a speaker in the grill.

In the theory of BASIC!!!! concepts of circuits and electronics it makes sense, I fix helicopters for a living, electronics are a different language in my head - wiring makes my head spin so… cmon nosbusa!!

here, on frf
sorry, busy day.

what type of audio system do you plan on using for this setup? the pa system might work best since it is an amplified speaker. it can be very loud and not take up a lot of space. however integration might prove to be difficult. if there was a way to program the sound you want into the pa system then it would be as simple as a momentary switch. (pushing the horn is momentary. it stops when you let go) getting an mp3 player to play the sound is a bit tricky. im not completely sure how to trigger it. soldering onto an mp3 player circuit board is not an easy task. also getting a speaker to play your sound correctly and loud enough will be difficult. i think looking into the pa systems that emergency and law enforcement have might be the way to go. i would look into programming audio into it.

and if i were to have one, it would say "hey ******!!!"
