I dunno - that tweet up there makes me think maybe no V8. Personally I love the TTV6, i know I'm in the minority here but it is so tunable. I also think Ford could pretty easily squeeze 600BHP out of the 3.5 without too much trouble. Pair that with 800lbs less heft and game on.

I'm with you. I have Audi RS6 and it has 4.0TT (sure it is V8) and with simple tune and downpipes it racks up 720hp and is crazy fast. I don't see any reason why 3.5TT raptor couldn't reach say 600hp.

True, but in order to "beat" Ram it needs to be at least more than 702HP or Ram will continue the "...most HP available in a truck...." dig at Ford.

That is correct. And if Ford wants to walk down that road, they need to decide what to do. Hummer could already beat Ford with a long stick with 1000hp. Ford has few options what todo, but I'm not 100% confident building gas gusling V8 is the long term solution. Dodge has for all these years been a car/truck/suv that has large engine and lots of hp, but when ever I've driven the, they actually go nowhere.

Ford is already lighter and more agile, better looking by far (my personal opinion). So I'd fight in the areas of my strength. I'd put a hybrid engine that can push 650p in a Raptor, with weight difference makes it better handling, feeling, more appealing and also competitively performing truck. Not to mention building competitive edge over the coming years, when internal combustion engined become banned. And it will come, whether weblike or not.

Yea they could get that power. We know a GT 3.5 cranks out 650+

If Ford only comes out with a 3.5TT with a modest power increase and they don’t do an R. I would have to believe they moved on and a Hybrid and BEV model will be next.

What’s intriguing to me is, Ford probably has so many options it can utilize even now.

If Ford completely flops and fails to put the Supercharged 5.2 in the Gen 3.... how many of you you guys are making the jump to the TRX?

If you gave me a TRX I'd spend ten minutes burning up a tank of gas and then I'd sell it. Or give it away if that was part of the deal. Pay money for one? Dream on.

Ford could use an update in the interior, RAM has a solid interior from looks and quality of materials. The power plant is very nice as well, I still prefer my Gen 2 over the TRX.

TFL just released a video of a mildly tuned Raptor keeping up with the TRX with the TRX just barely nudging ahead. Granted you could always tune the TRX but you're still out over $20k over a fully loaded Gen 2 and still have shit gas mileage vs the Raptors.

Either way, when we get these companies competing the consumer wins.

I agree with both of you but the fact is bolt on Raptors (upgraded intercooler, intake and tune) are not coming anywhere close to 600. They are making around 420 WHP on pump gas, I am not talking ethanol. I can’t understand why the current TT V6 can’t make any power. I am not trying to discredit the truck, but the current engine just does not do it for me.

I think that is why most of us are pushing for the Supercharged Predator set up.
