The new G has a twin turbo V 8 577 hp
The Lamborghini has same engine set up
But 650hp and is wicked fast:cheers:

So, the Merc has a Mercedes sourced 4.0 TT V8 used in a ton of different MB applications and the Lambo is the VW sourced 4.0 TT V8 used in a ton of different Audi/Porsche/Lambo/Bentley, etc. applications. I know horsepower is about 75hp different, but even though they are both 4.0L TT V8, they are "completely" different engines from two different manufacturers. My question is, do you notice an overall character difference in the sound harmonics, power delivery, idle lumpiness (if any), etc of the two engines? You have a higher hp level in the G63, though not the highest hp application Mercedes uses (E63 and GT 63 S 4 door, etc.) and then the Lambo, I believe, has the highest current hp application in the VW family with their 4.0L V8.

I'm just curious how close they feel overall.

yup you are correct!
The Raptor has a lot of torque but is aero limited
The G tons of torque and would be close to feel with the raptor acceleration

nothing that I have ever driven on the street compares to the Lamborghini

acceleration braking cornering it stands alone
From a 60mph role drag race with the G
The Lamborghini leaves it like the G hit its brakes

the Lamborghini can’t compare with anything off road with the Raptor one is the king of off road one is king of the street

all three amazing vehicles that I have the fortune to be able to drive:cheers:

Thanks for the reply! I’ve watched YouTube videos of the Urus and the G63. G63 seems to launch pretty hard but definitely slows down as it nears 100mph and beyond to around a 140mph top speed. The Urus is just a freaking rocket ship SUV. Pulls like a freight train based on the videos and launches crazy hard.

Nice family stable for sure! I can’t disagree with any of them. My Raptor DD sits alongside my wife’s LX570 (its a Landcruiser tank to haul around our son) and then I have a 991.2 GT3 and 663rwhp ZR1 for track days and playing around town. So, I’m not complaining either about my car situation, but if I wanted to throw down ~200k on an SUV the Urus and G63 would both be on the shortlist!

Congrats again and welcome to FRF!!

Thank you! And as for the new G it is a completely new vehicle massive upgrade
I’ll have to test drive one, although finding one to test drive is nearly impossible. I built one on line, wow, they have increased the price by over 20% and I thought it was an expensive SUV when I bought mine!
