Alcon issues

I’m looking for upgrading my brakes as well and leaning on going with Alcon, Brembo is a bit pricey and requires some modifications I’m told. Anxious to see your outcome on the noise issue.

There is the R1 Concepts option as well. No personal experience with there kits however.

Alcons are great when installed and bedded correctly. 30K Miles on my Gen2 without issues.
Had R1s on before and are not even close to the quality and braking performance of the Alcons.

I'm glad I read this thread, I was considering upgrading to the Alcons, this will definitely deter me from using this product.

Don’t take one problem too much to heart. I’ve got 20,000 miles on my 19 with them and I love them. Big difference. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

OP could your tie rod be touching the rotor? Some trucks need adaptors. Did you bed the pads in?

I agree with your assessment. However, this is the 3rd
report I’ve read specifically about squeezing noise, which would drive me crazy. I can’t help but believe this isn't just a coincidence. Now I’m switching my focus to find another manufacturer that will fit our OEM wheels. I’m starting to research R1 Concepts, although a little pricy, I’m liking what I’m reading thus far.

I’ve found in my research that some sort of tie rod modification is needed for the Alcon as well as Brempo. Not sure if that the issue here, but it could be.

Agreed. I did the fronts only so far and couldn't be happiers. No squealing and Alcon even answered questions when the shop was having an issue (they didn't fully read the directions). The difference in braking is striking. I don't feel the rears are really needed currently but maybe sometime in the future.

You gen 2's running alcons, what did you do with your electronic rear brake? Thought the rear alcon was not compatible?
