Really old. Back in the summer of 2010
Ford raptor jump - YouTube

Cody you've been showing people how it's done since the beginning, and are one of the original Raptor YouTube heroes. Just look at that friggin' view count. I find that sweet video in a lot of people's playlists because it's really cool. Wish I had been jumpin' a Raptor around as long as you guys. I'm over a year in now though and having a blast!

It will be interesting to see the difference between Fox 3.0 and Icon 3.0...

This guy demonstrates how to catch some kicker air with just a very short run at it. SloMo really allows you to analyze the G-Out effects that flex the frame as mentioned before (front compressed/rear full droop during launch, then vice versa on landing).

If you are going to jump kickers (and it's how most of us learn - by trial and lots of error), it is definitely a good idea to get a good frame kit IMO to diminish these insults to the frame over time.

By the way, a word to the wise - the Baja Racing of Texas course at TRR is littered with these "gotcha" kickers of various sizes. And even if you are trying to slow down when you see them, you end up nailing them harder than you thought you would as you are haulin' ass through other's dust.

The LAST thing you wanna do is be on your brakes going into a jump... That's asking for a nose-down landing.

The right way to go is pre-run, know where the kickers are, scrub some speed well before the jump then stab the throttle before and during takeoff so you properly transfer weight rearward. MUCH smoother landings will result.

Moto, how many personal assistants do you have searching the internet looking for pics and vids of Raptor jumps? :)

Hell yeah! I see all the wheels get off the ground! You are flying along there! Best way is to let a GoPro to do the hard work while you jump around a bit. Then just review the HD video, edit it down to the best parts and capture screenshots for pics.

Got a contour, just never take the time to set it up or anything..most of my jumps are out checking my trail cams or going to the stand...or when people tempt me and say I wont do it lol

As demonstrated in this sweet vintage jump from the master himself, back when Mighty ****** was a bit closer to stock

Yes sir! And the best way to eliminate suprises is with a good GPS like Lowrance. Worth every penny. Mark the hazards as you pre-run. The major events have a downloadable map with hazards already clearly marked, and you can always add your own to it. TRR has way too many to keep up with, and though there are caution markers - a lot of them get knocked down, so GPS definitely is the more reliable method.

Here's another one from that last guy. Moved on from lawn kickers to the street jump. Hard to tell if the guy watching was surprised or impressed or ?

Haha! I forgot all about that thread. That was in May of 2010, my Raptor was only a month old and in its native modless state. That thread never really gained traction so I'll just copy/paste the photos & videos here so people don't have to leave this thread to see...

That was actually my first Raptor jump ever.
I've had much bigger hucks since, but unfortunately we haven't filmed any. My passengers are more preoccupied with firearms and booze when they're out of the truck I guess.
