Aftermarket Wheels

I am buying these Rockstars III 20x9 with -12 offset, 6 x135. Hopefully they will fit, KMC says they will.... offset -12 should make aggressive look. Tires Nitto 35 x 12.5 x 20.

Yeah, and the other stock 17" OEM wheels don't look bad either if they are powdercoated. I agree, bringing them out just a bit would look much better IMHO which I am going to do with some spacers.

But if you do it with spacers, you're going to have to use spacers that are at least 1.5 inches wide, right? Since the stock studs are 1.5 inches long? That's about, what, 39mm further than stock?

SO the Con 6 is a 0 offset....looks like all the Methods are the same and will stick out close to 1.5 inches further than the stock wheels, right? At that offset, do the tires throw up a lot of debris onto the truck? I'd be concerned about paint chips.

Okay guys, so I just wanted to check with the wheel experts (and new Raptor owners) out there because I haven't bought aftermarket wheels in a long time. My dealer told me bead locks were not going to happen, so we removed them from my order on Friday (crossing my fingers for a VIN/build date soon). I want to get some aftermarket wheels, but don't want to screw up the functionality of the suspension (no rubbing when suspension fully compressed). How far can I go outward (offset) without creating issues? Do the 17x8.5, 0 offset Methods (which stick out 1.34" more than stock) create rubbing problems if suspension is fully compressed? I've read through the whole thread and no one has said how far out we can go without creating an issue. I also like some of the Fuel wheels. So how about a wheel like the Fuel Maverick 17x9 +20 offset (0.79" further out than stock). 0.79" extra seems pretty close to stock, so should these function the same as the stock size or do we not even have this much room to play with? How about the new Robby Gordons (+0.35")? I don't have the truck so I don't really have a grasp of what the tolerances are and how much room we have to play with before functionality is affected. Thanks for any feedback.

PS: Also, I like those Fuel Assaults (above) and they are only +0.35" outward from stock, but they weigh 43lbs!!

These are the things I worry about too. Mostly concerned about low offset (+0) wheels under full suspension compression.

They do kick up some rocks. I used to get quite a few chips with the Methods and BFG's on my GEN1. The BFG's tend to grab everything. I switched to the Toyo RT and the larger tread spacing doesn't pick up nearly as many rocks. Any tire with bigger gaps in between tread will help (toyo mt, nitto trail or ridge grappler etc...) It cut down the chips quite a bit.

yes, i am actually going to go with 2" spacers, so it should take them out a bit more. Sure wish ford would have continued production of the 17" wheel with how it looked originally as it was a machined, gun metal color versus the polished that come on them today. When mine are done i am hoping they will come out just like the original wheels looked in all those photos when the vehicle was first introduced to the public.

Hmm i expected comments like this Coming from sport cars territory with no experience. This is my first truck. I just like the bigger wheels but you push me to reconsider it. They do same wheel also in 18".....

So, this goes to my question I asked on the previous page of this thread. If I get the methods w/ 0 offset, or the Fuels w/+6 or +14, or the Robby Gordons w/+25 (assume all of these are 17x8.5) can I do this without my tires hitting the flares and rubbing:

That is a good question. Considering I already bought the fuel trophys... didn't put them on yet, waiting for someone else to test their fenders. (Actually I'm waiting till spring) But would be nice to know... I'm keeping the other wheels tho also.
