Anybody install these before when you upgraded to 3.0s?

After talking with some respectable people I'm leaning toward keeping them on the shelf until/unless needed, but wanted to get a sense of the frequency of broken shock mounts with 3.0s from the FRF community.

Thanks

Marc

I can't answer your question, but if you have them, and your going to put 3.0 on, I would just do the upgrade, why take a change and possibly, damage more than the shock bracket, like the new shock, bed of the truck, why do it twice, and or kick your self in the ass if something happens.

I was told the same thing about waiting if they break and am out of time to get the mounts for the upcoming run. I was told they break because they trimmed off too much material (weakening the oem mount) when it only needs a very slight amount

Just get the lge cts reinforcement kit
I did. And they have no idea when they will ship. Hard to plan without solid dates. So I bought the RPG mounts. Had them the next day. But they're weld on and that concerns me. I know a solid welder.....just leery of making that kind of mod. Sent from my iPad using Forum Runner

If your guy is a solid welder, just do it, done right and a little black paint, no one would know, unless they new what they were looking at, plus the piece of mind, and preventative damage.

I had a local fab shop weld gussets on my oem shock mounts. Most likely not needed but better to have them than be stranded and fixing a mess later. Did this after I put the 3.0 Kings on.
