That is the right way IMO and if you need the tune add it. A tune is like having sex with ky not necessary but

Mine runs great with CAI and Cat-back, my CAI is tuned to run with the stock tune though.

I've given it 100 mile break-in. Will have to see if the tune works.

how many key cycles? meaning on/off. it takes a few

Probably 15 -20 cycles. Maybe it will wake up, but it sounds like the tune is the way to go. Not horribly bad, just noticeably more of a dog at that rpm/speed range. The intake honk definitely got better so I think the computer has adjusted. My setup is AFE stage II with a donaldson powercore filter.
