Hello,

I am planning to install some additional lights. An LED bar in front and some fog lights in the front side bumber openings. Does this voids the Ford New Vehicles warranty? Several dealerships in the area were not able to clearly say Y/N!

The warranty material saiz "tampering with any factory installed equipment voids the warranty". Is this true? Most of the Raptors get a ton of add-ons as far as lights...does this mean that their owners are voiding the warranty?

Thank you

It is all realitive. If you install lights and wire them into the headlight system and then your headlights fail... then you probably wont see that replaced under warranty unless you do a quick turn to stock.

But if you install leaks and your tranny leaks... see what i am getting at here?

no, the up fitter switches are there for you to use. Also specific parts may void certain parts of a warranty but nothing voids all of it. It is also up to the manufacturer to prove your modification cause whatever part to fail.

Only if you take them to court over it. It will cost you much more in court to try and fight FoMoCo, than whatever part busted and Ford knows that.

Small claims is up to 10k and cost about $50. Also, no lawyers are allowed. Not that big of a deal.

Didn't know that. You think Ford would try to appeal it to a larger court? Not really sure how court systems work.

getting back to the real question though, no your entire warranty will not be voided. any reasonable dealer will understand your mods and unless it is obvious your mods caused a failure they should honor the warranty. They are in a service industry though they often forget it, last thing a dealer wants is every raptor/ f150/ ford forum blowing up at how the dealer was a POS/ *******.

Man, the factory installed upfitters are there for a reason! If any dealer gave me shit for actually using them, there'd be a SERIOUS issue at hand.
