GEN 2 Add Tailgate Appliqué

Does anyone know if it's possible to add a tailgate appliqué to a Gen 2 with the appliqué deleted?

There's some aftermarket stick on ones.. I think they look acceptable

The tailgate with the stamped f150 don't look right to me with the applique though.

Yes as it attaches to the tailgate with holes in the tailgate itself. You could search junk yards for a tailgate with it if you’re set on finding one.

I’ve seen people in the past take the oem one and cut all the tabs off and glue it to the tailgate.

If you wanted the factory applique, Im sure you could shave off the tabs and then use some 3M tape to hold it in place.

It does come with the ford letters, albeit unattached to avoid trademark issues.

some guys have attached factory ones, but it involves cutting all the clips off and using double sided tape.. the tailgate skin is vastly different underneath the applique.

Be advised the tailgate you have may not fit the raptor applique (if you tape it on or get the knock-offs) if you have the stamped F-150 on it. The extruded middle part of the tailgate is different, can prob add more tape to make i work, but there may be a gap on the bottom.

Go oem, it'll be worth it in the long run.
