And this is why FRF is the shit!

I tell the wifey to call all her Raptor customers who have reported the clunk to inform them of this new TSB. She talks to the service manager who pretty much looked at her like she was an idiot and said there is nothing Ford has for the fix (keep in mind this happened today). I just emailed her the PDF TSB and she is marching that thing back to the service manager as I type. I told her he should be lucky it's coming from her instead of some irate customer who found this on his own and would most likely be more prone to shoving it down this guys throat and standing over him saying SEE, What now! Okay, maybe not that dramatic but I would be super pissed if some service manager told me there was no fix and lone and behold I find it on my own over the net of all places..

Fantastic! I'll have to swing by there soon and have them order one for me (assume they're not just going to start stocking them?) I've had the clunk for far too long now.

Pretty sure Ford only sends letters for recalls. The dealer needs to look up the TSB when you bring in your vehicle for service to see if there are any bulletins that match your symptoms.

Correct

Talked to my home town Ford dealer about the TSB last friday and he told me he didn't have anyone trained to work on Raptors and besides they couldn't get it on their lifts.:wtf:

Run......run from that dealer as fast as you can. They are clearly a scam joint and probably have a bunch of Kenyans ready to rummage through your truck for anything with a number and name on it..........at least, that's what I gather from this. Morons.

Definitely take the TSB with you (or fax/email it to them). Emailed it to my Svc Mgr the night I found out about it. He called me first thing the next morning and said the driveshaft was ordered.

So, Im looking at my new driveshaft......

I had the TSB done this am, they got the keys at 9 and I was on my way about 10:30. Not as fast as me, but it was free.

I drove a few hundred today, didn't feel as "loose" and of course no clunk, or slop even when the clunk wasn't heard.

I crawled under the truck to see whats what, and this yoke SEEMS to be a beefier piece than the previous one. (maybe its not) I don't have a pic of the original yoke (hpoefully someone can procure me one and post it here) to compare it to, but it seems that way.

So heres the sticker, for the "birthers" out there:

What I noticed was in this pic. The black ring. I never noticed it on the original one. it feels like rubber, but not sure why its there. Is this yoke a two piece? probably not. some kind of centric balancer? idk.

So, new joint, new yoke, new driveshaft. (NOTICE the grease on the underside of the cab) We will see..
