Damn for $700 I would love to have that for long trips/skiing. I'm not a huge fan of the look but they are super utilitarian.

How does the shell attach? Does it use some sort of clamp system?
There are four of these, one at each corner

I'm giving thought to cutting four lengths of barstock to size, so that they span the rail from clamp point to clamp point, one for the top and one for under the rail in the bed, then run some grade 8 hardware thru the holes.

But that's probably overkill. From what I've seen so far, there's no movement at all with the Leer system. I'll know more after this run over those logging roads in a couple weekends (no high speed or jumps, but lots of twisting and flexing up down left and right).

I was also wondering about the weight and if you had stock springs or an upgraded leaf pack?

Thanks!

The springs in the rear are RPG customized National Springs, the Heavy Duty version. The shocks are RPG tuned Fox 3.0s and I have the full frame reinforcement kit back there too; basically their "Stage 4" package for the rear, with the HD springs option.

You never know who you're going to meet when you (I) stop by the FRF. Great to see you and it's cool that you're still modding your Raptor J.

I'm a big fan of running a cap/shell on the Raptor. I don't see much downside if any.

I like the full-time power outlet back there. You got a fridge?

A bit tough to see but, these are the clamps I have been using for 1.5 years. Been on 4 off road runs and it has never loosened up or shifted. It came with 2 clampes per side I bought 2 more to make it 3 per side. With the 2 per side they did get loose.

Hey Dan! Good to hear from you.

Buddy has a fridge that we use, and one is on my short list of to-buy. I also use it for power tool battery charging. Works great.

Yeah those are the "old" style according to Leer. These "new" style actually go thru the fiberglass, rather than around and on top of it. I've never read of any problems with either design, but Leer says that the thru style should (in theory) make the hold even stronger than before.
