Hey Dan! Good to hear from you.

Buddy has a fridge that we use, and one is on my short list of to-buy. I also use it for power tool battery charging. Works great.

Yeah those are the "old" style according to Leer. These "new" style actually go thru the fiberglass, rather than around and on top of it. I've never read of any problems with either design, but Leer says that the thru style should (in theory) make the hold even stronger than before.

Ya like you said earlier I would want a piece of support metal along the whole rail if i went through the glass...

Yup. I think if/when I ever take the next step with this, I'll support it like we've said for sure if I haven't already done it.

The next step: install a rail system up top and add a basket/rack to hold a spare tire and a couple gas cans. I'm not ready to go there yet, and I'm not sure if I like that idea over, say, something like this. Gonna mull that one over for a while before deciding.

I go on deezee's website and it says 43200. I go to order it on Amazon to save a few bucks and it says this part# does not fit your application. WTH?

The tiregate would keep the center of gravity lower so that's a definite plus. Go full expo and install the rails and go roof top tent

Update: After a logging trail run and a few high-ish speed jaunts thru an oil field or three (that I cannot confirm or deny took place), I'm happy to report zero issues whatsoever. I haven't jumped the truck, but its definitely been stressed a bit with the shell on and it hasn't budged.

^^Very nice!

Don't be surprised if you end up answering questions like "Hey is that a new Bronco??" or "Did Ford release an SVT Expedition??"

I've been stopped 3 times now by folks asking those exact questions. Each said they'd be buyers if it existed, and are just waiting for Ford to release something like it.
