I've run both 93 in NC and now 91 in CA: Stage 2 Goose'd throughout. My MPGs went down 1.3 MPG (17.5 Avg -> 16.2 Avg per the truck's computer) and I can legitimately feel a power difference per the butt dyno. It's pretty obvious these trucks like higher octane and were designed for it. Running anything less than the best available doesn't really make that much sense to me. The cost difference is equivalent if you compare it to the additional MPG's you get from running better quality gas.

Plus I've heard you don't get beat by Hyundai's when you use 93

Best I can find…. Which sadly is 91 here. And it just hit 1.67 per liter. Do the math on that !!!!
Don’t complain, it’s cheaper than in California. We average CAD 1.77/liter here ($5.29/gallon). US conversion of what you pay is $4.98/gallon. You win.

Everything with a motor I own gets 94 octane as they are all forced induction high performance engines. I just look at it as part of ownership. Gotta pay to play. I think anyone buying a Raptor, is not buying it to be an economy vehicle anyway.

Here is my question.. we have primarily 91 here. And I can easily get this WITHOUT ethanol. Or I can get 93 octane from one station here but it HAS 10% ethanol. What is better? The higher octane but with ethanol or the slightly lower octane with no ethanol.
Ask Winfield with Goode Tuned, I had the same question and he said the 91 with ethanol was better for performance.

Can't speak to the difference in MPG/performance between the octane levels as I've only run 93 in the Raptor. Just do it out of habit since it's what I've done for any of the turbo'd vehicles I've owned previously as well.

I think the factory puts a small amount of 93 in the raptor on the line. When I picked up my 2020 I went to the Shell station with the sales person and questioned him about putting 87 in it. His reply was "it will be fine"
Put it in Sport mode when I left the dealer and headed for the Interstate. first brisk acceleration resulted in pops and farts and thought I may have to turn around. never did it again until I ran the tank down and refilled with 93. Did another Sport mode rip, farted and sputtered again one time then ran the best ever.
93 is easy to find in W. Ky. so staying with it.
Mileage wise, I don't care what it gets but it gets better mileage than my 2002 5.4 FX4 Screw it replaced.
I was really surprised how quickly it picked up the fuel change. I remember reading a post here that it took a couple of tank fills to adjust. I find that not true.
