$80 and 2 minute tailgate mod

I have the 800A and wish I had the appliqué tailgate.

I always have to do a double take if it is missing the applique because they look like a FRaptor.

I spent over $1K getting rid of my applique...prefer the look of a clean tailgate, plus wanted to put on a custom badge. Found one from a ‘17 to avoid the big F150 stamped in the bottom too.

FYI gunmonkeyINTL I’ve owned 5 Raptors, 4 with the tailgate applique I purposefully ordered this without after removing one once and seeing all the dirt trapped under it and inside the tailgate. $75-80 is chump change for a Raptor mod. To each his own....

I’m not questioning your person preference of the appearance with or with out the tailgate appliqué, that is a personal preference and a strong reason to order it with or without.

But using the fact it traps dirt as a reason doesn’t make a bunch of sense to me. There are parts all over these trucks that traps dirt. Ever pulled the fender flares off?

The dirt was not THE reason but is a contributing factor if you don’t care for the look of plastic anyway. Who knew a tailgate applique would generate such strong preferences

I have the applique on mine but like it without especially the 2020MY without it. I feel the the 2020 did a good inbetween of clean but not too plain.
