766 Miles in, service soon light came on, among other codes.

Been having some of the worst luck with new vehicles lately, but this doesn't compare to losing brakes from a 2024 Colorado I purchased and then dumped to get my '24 Raptor. Topic here: Link

I absolutely love this truck and know it's just a few bugs that need to be worked out with all the electronics. Last night while driving on the highway, I got the notification "Service Vehicle Soon" and Ford Pass notified me of "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power". Got home, scanned the truck and it looks like a P0929-77 is what triggered the MIL. I'm also seeing 5 other errors, but I'm not seeing any other issues. Took the truck into the dealership this morning to also address a clicking sound from the steering wheel when I turn the wheel more than one full rotation, thinking it might be the clock spring.

Is it common for a new vehicle to have so many error codes in the background?

UPDATE

Well hell. The service advisor just called and said they will need the truck until next Tuesday just to diagnose it because the code and whatever is going on is stumping the tech. The service advisor said the truck will be going to their transmission tech maybe by late Thursday or early Friday for additional diagnosis.

**1-3-2025 Update**

Decided to call the dealership today as I still had not heard back from my service advisor with any update. Mind you, I decided to call Ford Corporate yesterday to express my concern regarding the issue I had with the truck with less than 1,000 miles on it, and especially Ford's policy on not offering to be placed into a rental until the dealership conducts their diagnosis. Ford's customer service representative along with their supervisor practically said, "meh, deal with it". Incredible considering the cost of these trucks.

Going back to my call today with the service advisor, she heard from the transmission technician who thinks it's not a mechanical issue but an electrical issue, ya think? They need to further diagnose the truck and need more time, especially due to the fact that the tech working on my vehicle does not work on weekends.

Increasingly frustrating and concerning.

I'm willing to bet it's the GSM (gear shift/selector module). I picked up my '24 a month ago and it started doing the same thing the next day around 150 miles. I bet your fold down shifter function doesn't work, or works intermittently. I only realized my shifter was malfunctioning when I tried to fold out the work suflrface to set the laptop down to connect to Forscan and troubleshoot the alerts.

Seems to be a common issue with trucks delivered in the last couple months reading FB group posts - remedy appears to be replacing the shifter.

Mine also had a nasty misfire at 50mph once around 800 miles, and sounds likes it's misfiring at idle which I assume means a bad coil, but I haven't had time to take it in for either yet.

P0929 is Gear Shift Lock Solenoid/Actuator Control Circuit 'A' Range/Performance.

That DTC indicates that the Gear Shift Module (GSM) is detecting an issue with the shift interlock solenoid circuit.

The diagnosis should be pretty straightforward; there’s a comprehensive pinpoint test.

As far as the other DTCs, when a module sets a fault, the other modules on the vehicle relying on information will flag an invalid data and correlation DTCs; they should be ignored.

Thanks for the info @FordTechOne

Finally heard back from the dealership today. Boy, it's becoming comical. I called and asked for my service advisor; naturally, she isn't in today, even though she'd assured me she would provide me with an update on Saturday (never did) or at the latest today (she won't). Finally got someone who said he’d help me, so I asked what the status is of my truck and if they can't figure it out, I would be glad to retrieve my truck and take it to another dealership with more competent technicians. He referred me to the service manager.

I waited for a few minutes, and the service manager came on the phone apologizing for the lack of communication. The service manager realized how new the truck is and was again apologetic that I was not offered a rental, and also more apologies for how long the truck has been sitting in his lot. The service manager proceeded to speak to the technician assigned to my truck and informed me that the battery failed the load test and that a new battery was ordered and sitting in the parts department. The service manager then said he would call me back tomorrow with updates and that I would be working with him moving forward.

Five minutes passed, and I received a call from the service manager again. He indicated that the wrong battery was ordered and that it would arrive by tomorrow. At least the service manager wanted to put me in a rental. So, he then proceeded and said that it's now with their front-end mechanic, and they want to put some miles on my truck.

My luck with trucks and batteries. :banghead:
