My awesome 2011 just passed 60,000 miles.....knock on wood, not a single problem with the truck!

If I'm reading it correctly, the suggested maintenance at 60k is to change the transmission fluid and filter. Is that correct?

For the tranny the guys at the oil change place cannot perform the operation most likely. The thermostat on the tranny makes changing the fluid an hour or a little less affair.

Did mine at about 18k I think when I went to Amsoil---took the fluid for a fill to the Ford Store and had them do it. They used a BG machine was a learning experience watching it being done a little at a time lol..

I'm a little over 59k on mine and I have been wanting to Change the tranny fluid too I've changed every other fluid already in the last month starting with flushing the coolant and then the PS fluid and did the rear diff with the mag-hytec diff cover I'm wanting to get the tranny pan from them as well. But not sure if I can change all the fluid on my own! Any ideas? I have a fluid pump so I could easily fill the pan from the dip stick hole bit I'm sure there's a ton more to it than that to get all the fluid out right?

Pat--yes--you cannot do it period. Needs a special machine because of the stat on the tranny. Did my coolant flush a couple of months ago when the sun roof died and it was in the shop anyway.

Yea figured I couldn't! So what's the price of the dealership doing it? If I were to bring all the fluid and the new tranny pan? Anyone have an idea? I just really hate having to pay a dealership for something I can do myself but in this case since I can't I guess I can give them my money lol

Boss, if you don't bring your own transmission fluid, what brand does the FORD dealership typically put in the trans?

I haven't done my Raptor, but I have done my past Ford PUs (150 & 250) at an Oil lube place (Express & American) and they will flush the transmission & replace the filter for around $90. It might be more than that now-a-day, since the last time I had that done was over 3 years ago.
