We've heard these 6.2Ls click and clack quite a bit which is reminiscent of an exhaust manifold leak. However, in most cases it's normal. When you pull up along the side of a building or a wall it's most noticeable.

Mine is from inside the cabin only. Under acceleration. An additional tick, I guess.

Edit: I could probably hear it from the engine bay under acceleration too, but I haven't done that. Usually, I'm driving, not hanging onto the front bumper...

My 2014 has been at the dealer since Wed. Same ticking/flutter on acceleration. Louder than normal motor noise. My 2011 never did it, and the mech was nice enough to grab a new 2014 off the lot and drive around with me. That one didn't do it. We also drove in another mech's 2012. That one didn't do it. At first, we figured it was the plastic valve covers, but driving the new one disproved that. The mech called me yesterday and says he thinks its the injectors but doesn't understand why they are so loud. He has a call into the hotline. I'll let you know what they say.

I have a 2013 and there is a clicking noise that is driving me crazy. Dealer has tried with no luck to figure it out. Supposedly they are trying to get Ford Engineer to come out and check it out. 9900 miles and I'm about to give it back to them. anyone else have this clicking noise? its constant.

I picked up my truck. I spoke to the svc manager. He recommended that we hold off. He really didn't want to tear down a new engine (Ford hotline told them to pull covers off and troubleshoot with stethoscope). I agreed and said I would monitor it. Mine seems to be intermittent (80% of the time). I'll report back as I get more info.

Mine makes an obvious tick at start up. As well as the traditional Raptor "clunk". I'm not worried. I've got over 10k on my truck. Everything from 1000 miles in one long day to very hard aggressive off roading to the stop and go traffic of Los Angeles freeways. Nothing has made it worse or better and it's been there since day one.

I'm not too worried. If ***** gonna break because it's defective from the factory, it's gonna break within the first 10,000 miles. Everything else breaks because you pushed it too hard.

Agree with you on the 10,000 miles sentiment; hence, why I'm not tuned.

As for the start-up, are y'all referring to the kind of grinding noise that happens about 3-5 seconds after start-up, lasts for about 1-2 seconds, and then goes away? Happens nearly every time I start the truck since Day 1.

Yeah that's called "the clunk". There's a whole thread on it. Even ford technicians chimed in. Basically they said they have no clue. Hahahahaha

Mine isn't just at start up. Left side of motor taps pretty loud and can hear it through the cab.
