5Star - what to buy?

Yes, I used the search. 15 minutes of looking is my limit.

So when you order the tuner you have to fill out this form. My questions are, is this the right tuner, and what should I be asking for in the form? I understand what a tuner does but beyond that I don't have a clue.

What am I after? Better throttle response and possibly better mileage but I know that is not likely. My preference is regular fuel.

Any help is appreciated.

well from what I have learned is to just call them for the best tune for your truck with mods that you have.

I had 5Star tunes for my 2012 FX4 5.0 and was really happy with throttle response and transmission shifting. I got the 87 perfect/tow, 87 Economy and 91 Perf. A few nights ago I ordered tunes for my 2012 Raptor 6.2. I got the 87perf and 87 economy. The 87 performance seems crisp on throttle and power seems a little more refined. I have yet to check out the economy. I really don't find a reason for the 91 as fuel costs more for the Perf return not worth it to me. If I run 91 it will be with a Whipple.

Just ordered:
87 Performance / Tow
87, 89, 91,93 Performance

Hope to hear from them in the am to get this here by this weekend.

Will see but think the 87 Performance / Tow will fill my needs by throttle response, limiter delete, and just overall to unleash the 6.2 overall.

Likely don't need the 93 so maybe I should have done 87 and 89 Performance tow and 87, 89, and 91 performance

Curious what others think about this set up?


UPDATE:
WOW, shipping was smoking fast. Received my tuner today. Installed the 87 Performance/Tow. (15 to 20 minutes to get tuned) Took it for a 20 mile run just to put a few miles on it. Throttle response and mid range seemed improved. Wish I would have not got the 93 tune and went with the 89 Performance/Tow instead. Hope to have it up to around 100 miles and ignition cycles completed tomorrow.

Here's my question. 5 star charges $429 for SCT tuner with 3 custom tunes

Everywhere else $379 loaded with 3 custom maps.

Whats the difference 5 star offers oppose to other places?

Is 5 star saying they load custom tunes but you're actually getting the same preloaded tunes that the $379 SCT comes with?

No offense to 5 star but I'm not spending an extra $50 for the same thing I can buy else where.

We sell the 5 Star tuner as well as run them on our own Raptors. His tunes are top notch. The $429 comes with the SCT tuner (and SCT tune) along with three 5 Star tunes of your choosing.

Mike adds 3 "Custom Tunes" to the programmer that are specifically designed for the Raptor. These are addition to the factory custom maps that are included with the stock SCT Programmer.
