After seeing what can be done with a Whipple or twin turbos on the Coyote, that would be my vote. Install difficulties not withstanding...

Going down from 378 cui. to a 302 cui. is not going to give you big power without a Whipple SC

It's the Tune calibration strategy for the PCM that will prevent you for doing this.
A few have tried, but never got it to work right. You can search the web for it.
You basically have to rip out most of the can-bus, PCM and BCM
and find a standalone PCM or a ....... ECU and a separate TCM that would work together.
A lot of stuff will not work in the truck anymore.

Oh it most definitely would be going in with a Whipple on it. I assumed that it would be fairly straightforward as swapping the PCM, harness, and engine, especially since these trucks came with a 5.0 in that body style. As long as it's a Gen 1 Coyote I couldn't imagine it would be that insanely hard. It also used the same transmission as well.

It would be cheaper to start with a Coyote F150 and add suspension. The 6.2 PCM/BCM can be made to run the 7.3 by tricking the PCM to see 2 cams when there is only 1 on the Godzilla.
But You cant get the PCM in the Raptor to see 4 cams on the Coyote..

Look up Broc Ross on FaceBook 7.3 Godzilla swaps. He has a "kit" with new harness etc that will get the 7.3 to run in our Gen 1.
I almost went this direction before finding the whippled 2014

A 7.3 swap would be fun as well, and it would be interesting to look into. For what Livernois charges for a built 6.2 there's a lot of options. I would probably be looking at the 6.6 stroker and a Whipple. Also, there's no way in hell I would start with a 5.0 truck and try to build it onto a Raptor with the point my truck is at. It would be FAR easier to swap an engine and harness than it would be to repaint the whole truck and swap all the body over, all the interior, all of the suspension, all of the brakes, etc.

Yup. The 7.3 is a better fit N/A. I do love me some Coyote, except for burning through my tires in about 2800 street miles (not making this up). DAMN that 302/A10 is quick.
but I gotta admit that power is way up top in the power curve without a blower. The 7.3 is going to move the truck much easier.

The budget / downtime is going to be the major factors because just like @Canuck714 has said, The Coyote swap will be more tricky, almost certainly cost more and take more time than a 7.3 swap.

I would be wanting to do a Whipple on the 7.3 as well. It probably would make more sense to put a 7.3 in with a Whipple rather than trying to do the 6.6 stroker with a Whipple.

I did a search and snagged a pic. I'd love to know more.

I've read that 600HP N/A from these is doable with a cam swap and some other relatively simple upgrades. I like that a lot more than adding a blower to the 6.2

If it can make deep into the 700's easily with a Whipple and barely be sneezing, it wouldn't probably make sense to try and build it up.
