4WD mode pulling hard to right on acceleration

Grrr. Picked it up from the dealer. He was unable to duplicate the pulling. Neither was I when I went for a ride with the mechanic.

We did hear a whirring sound in 4High when coasting. Under acceleration, no noise. Once we coasted, the whirring noise started up. Dealership was good. They were going to test another truck to see if the sound exists. I don't ever recall that noise. Anyone?

Has your dealership contacted you about the sound yet, Bar? How many miles are on your truck? I'll start researching options.

PM'd you, Crystal. Thanks. 15k miles on a 2014.

Anyone have a good amount of noise in 4WD when coasting that goes away under throttle? I don't recall any gear noise before. I could be wrong. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2017 Raptor in dealership for 13 days. Massive pulling to right in AWD and 4WD accelerating gears 1-7. Goes away 8-10. They cannot seem to fix it and seem puzzled.

Pretty obvious that it is the right IWE bad and not engaging...

Of course, it could be a broken CV joint, differential, or axle on the right side as well. Bottom line is that the right front is not pulling.

With the inherent design of the iwe's, i find you have to back off the power for them to properly engage . not many 4wd systems shift well under power. I say you have an iwe issue. Have you tried to put it in 4 high, in neutral on flat ground, from there you can crank the wheel either locked to left or right, get out and manually roll the wheel with your hands looking for a spinning cv?

What is the consensus on eliminating the IWE on GEN 1's?
I have the same problem.

Does it usually indicate the drivers side IWE is bad if pulling to the right?

Sooo.... picked up my SCREW from the Ford Dealer today getting serviced.

I had the downshift 'recall' fixed plus I had them look specifically at the IWE since it's pulling to the right very hard in 4wd. I was very specific. When I picked it up the service lady said the recall is fixed and there is nothing wrong with your IWE's. I was skeptical that she even new what an IWE was so I asked how they actually tested it. I also asked if it was recalled, she laughed and said no but it should be.....She brought the mechanic out to explain. He says ford requires a test drive(which he said he definitely noticed the pull, so much so, that he talked to his supervisor). The FORD test drive only listens for grinding when put into 4wd. There was no grinding so it passed even though the mechanic witnessed that it was bad. The next FORD check is to disconnect vacuum hose to IWE and check vacuum pressure. This passed as well.... I asked, what if the gears are gone so no grinding noise? He said he has never seen that happen.

RESULT, the ford service manager instructed the mechanic that he himself owns a 2018 Raptor and it pulls to the right as well because of the 'Torque Steer Activating' and this is normal.....

I live in Alaska and 4wd is pretty necessary because of the big stock tires. I cringe whenever I have to put my truck into 4wd because it sucks hairy ******** with tongue to drive....

Is this another FORD ignore or are my local service guys useless as usual???
