Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates, been super busy lately, haven't had much time to get on. Im trying to wrap up a house my construction company built for a client this year. As soon as thats done its full time retro's ! The way things are lookin I may even put construction on the back burner next summer and just stick with the headlights.

Also, I changed my screen name to Raptor Retrofit just because Ducati as a vendor was starting to confuse ppl, lol. Ill always be Ducati to all to OG's though :893karatesmiley-thu

Well at least now people will quit pm'ing me asking when I am going to build their lights...

Hahaha, hey did you get your lights yet ? I know there were delays with the storm. Would love to see some pics installed, especially the SVT cutout, I didnt have a chance to take pics.

unboxing

So, one of the things I post up to Youtube every once in a while is the unboxing of a new Apple product before I tear it down.

since I have been not so patiently waiting (sorry for the numerous pings Dawson) for my headlights and they arrived yesterday, I thought they deserved the same treatment. I did it in photos rather than video, but I wanted to convey how impressed I was with Dawson's packaging and delivery of these new lights.

so here we go:

The box arrived today, not mutilated which was a great first sign, like the fragile sticker on it:

after opening the top you get custom packed foam:

the headlights are nestled snug in form fitting foam inserts. the wiring harnesses are bundled in bubble wrap with packing paper tucked in there to keep them from floating around inside and damaging anything

ahh, the light - matte black shroud, gunmetal grey bezel, custom cut graphic on the side and amber LED ring, fit/finish looks great

All the connectors are loomed and wrapped perfectly. Looks like something I would buy from TechArt for my 911, not something that came out of a home spun project

A shot of the finish work on the light assembly:

a not so good picture of the cool cutout I had Dawson do on the side markers:

I plan on installing these this weekend, cannot wait to see how they turn out. I will watch the video here in a minute, but any tips from folks about mounting locations for ballasts, gotchas along the way, where to tap in for the LED rings would be appreciated!

Thanks again Dawson, well worth the wait, although IMHO I do believe I am more important that SEMA :laughing1:

Ducatisps, what lights are those? Look good. I'd like to see those pics when you get them installed.
