37x13.5x17 Tires on Stock Wheels?

Who's running 13.5s on their trucks? I'd like to move from the stock BFG load range C 37x12.5x17 to 13.5s and stick with my stock beadlock (capable) wheels, but after 2 years of searching cannot decide on a tire. My truck is 99% street driven and I want to stick with an AT tire, but there are no other LR Cs available and all other quality tires (Nitto RG, Toyo AT3, Mickey Thompson etc. ) are so much heavier. The Toyo AT3s are the lightest of the bunch at 79 lbs vs ~63 for the OEM 37's... I don't want to kill the ride and economy..

Anyone have practical experience moving up from a 37x12.5 to a 13.5 AT tire?

Yes, I know they will fit.

I'm asking if anyone is running them, which tires, and comments on the change....

Depending on the tire, you will be very close to touching (or may touch) the upper control arm. I had 13.5 KM3s mounted on the stock 37pp beadlocks and it was probably half an inch of clearance. Maybe less. It seemed mostly fine though and didn't run them long enough to notice any problems. Subsequently changed wheels since then.

There's other threads on this very topic scattered about - general consensus is not to do it on a non-modified truck. Don't wanna kill fuel economy cuz weight of tires? There's more to be concerned with than that! My fuel economy died back in the civil war, not sure where yours is

I have the Raptor, arguably the worst fuel economy in the house, a twin turbo V8 Porsche, and then the supercharged V8 Blackwing Cadillac. There's no fuel economy over here!

Thank you. I too ran 37x13.5 KM3s on the stock beadlock wheels. Like you, mine were close to the UCAs but never touched, but I grew tired of the noise, weight and relatively poor street performance. I’d like to find a lighter AT 13.5 more appropriate for the street but they apparently still don’t exist.

It’s a 99% street daily driver and I’m most concerned about ride and I’d rather not go from 15-16 mpg to 10 and poorer street manners for the sake of a street tire upgrade. But at the end of the day a couple extra hundred a month doesn’t really move the needle.. it’s now almost exclusively my fishing trip vehicle doing ~ (6) 1000 mile trips a year

There not a lot of fuel economy at my place either, especially when pouring C16 in the Calvo car. LOL
