3 Days into having a dash cam, recorded my first crash

yes and yes.....very easy///this one has rear view...but there was no action so i didnt include the view

Yes, to piggy back off of what goblues said, a lot of dash cams will have dual channel (front/rear) the video from both cameras will be saved to the same SD card. On mine, the front camera footage will end with the letter A and the rear camera will end with the letter B. So for example 00000A.mpg and 00000B.mpg B being the rear view of the exact same time frame.

It would be nice if Ford added a MicroSD slot and updated the firmware so that those of us with the 360 view can also use those same cameras as dash cams. Heck they don't even have to add the SD slot, they can make it compatible with a standard USB flash drive plugged into one of the USB ports.

I do have to say, having a dash cam also keeps me in check from driving like an *******.

I'd say that's a safe bet since he wasn't the one involved in the crash and he's here posting about it. ​

Not much the cops can do. Hitting the brakes on the highway is not illegal. And not only that, the perps will claim they were braking because they saw something on the road. Or say it wasn't even them because they lent the car to a friend. Nearly impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt they are lying.

There is nothing to charge these people with and even a law student could get them off if the police tried.

The best advice is to be on the lookout for these types of setups, not get distracted, and keep your distance.

Also, live somewhere that isn’t a festering ******** of criminal activity

Out of curiosity, where do you have the rear camera mounted? Any chance of a picture of that, as well as a picture of the front mounting location?

Also, what size memory card did you get, and how long will each camera record before it starts looping over existing footage?
