3,300.00 tailgate and appliquéd is it worth it?

I wouldn't do it. I know a lot of guys in here disagree with me, but I like the cleaner look of no appliqué. I just didn't care for the plastic. If it was a powder coated piece of aluminum, I would like it more. I did a factory order and chose to delete it on mine. I think your truck looks great as it sits. My pe nis is big enough that I didn't think I needed it.

I love how it looks on Code Orange. I made an offer on one without the appliqué but they turned me down so I ended up with it. Either way I would of been happy.

To me if it wasn't for the big F 150 stamped on the bottom I'd say keep it plain. I feel if that wasn't there, there is more you could do with it to make it not just the normal standard tailgate. With that said I feel it needs the appliqué. For 3,300 maybe I'd live with it.

personally, i dont think it should have been an option to delete.. its signature ford raptor, just like the grille.. i passed on a nicer gen2 because it didnt have the tailgate applique.. looks too much like a work truck.

that being said $3300 is pretty steep.. i bet you could either find a used tailgate, and a king ranch or platinum would work, or buy the applique and install it by cutting the clips off wayyyyy cheaper than $3k..

I would buy a gen 2 applique off ebay or whatever and slap it on. Looks better than the gen 3 stamp, but both look better than nothing at all.
