I’d like to see a goose tuned R vs a trx. I’m betting it will be close enough ....

Yea, a $75k TRX does not have the same interior features as an 802a Raptor, but the Raptor does not have the same engine performance as a $75k TRX. The argument can be made from both ways o_O

I was just trying to say that his TRX was spec more in line with Gen 2 pricing—not spec with similar options.

lol, no the argument can’t be made both ways. It is only similar price to a Gen 2 because you are comparing a bare bones TRX to a fully loaded spec Gen 2 .

A fully loaded Gen 2 is bare in the engine department when compared to a base TRX. No the comparison is not apples to apples. But your either going to have a fully loaded Raptor with a lack of 250 HP or a base TRX interior with 250 more HP for $75k.

In regards to the question of why people care about MPG if they can afford a Raptor or TRX, the money spent isn't exactly the same. The vehicle cost is an asset, a depreciating one at that.. Obviously, gas is an expense. You're never getting any of the money spent on gas (or insurance) back. When you factor in that a Raptor likely is going to hold it's value better than the TRX, and gas and insurance is likely to be higher, it wouldn't be surprising to see TRX cost of ownership being several hundred more per month than the Raptor.

And sure, you get more HP in the TRX, but is that worth the extra cost? Is range more important than the extra HP and extra cash each month?

The whole idea that if you can afford a Raptor than you can't be concerned about the cost of owning a TRX doesn't add up. Obviously, there is a budget that fits a Raptor but not a TRX. As well, there's a budget that could fit a TRX, but would rather have a Raptor and some other toy to play with, etc.

There’s a line where terrible mpg for everyday use just to have the small additional potential for acceleration (I’m guess small vs a tuned R) becomes just stupid no matter what your net worth

the first part of your post has to be one of the most naive things posted when comparing two vehicles but with that said idk why is so hard for you to understand.

“ bare bones in the engine department “ lol..... it’s simple , a 75k TRX is a 60k Raptor point blank period.

the first part of your post has to be one of the most naive things posted when comparing two vehicles

When a vehicle has 55% more HP than the other, I would say the other vehicle comes across as lacking HP. Is 450 HP a bunch of power? Yea, it is. But that doesn’t change the fact that one vehicle has a lot more power than the other.

a 75k TRX is a 60k Raptor point blank period.

Point blank period? Mhm, the TRX will do 0-60 a FULL second faster (if not more) when compared to ANY stock Gen 2 Raptor. That doesn’t sound like the same truck now does it? The interior of the TRX may be more like a base Raptor, but it has a SC with 250 more HP—which is what your paying for, but you can’t seem to grasp that. To make a Gen 1 into a 700 HP beast, you are spending close to $10k on parts to do everything right (fuel pump upgrade, oil pump gears, SC, throttle body, and so on). So instead of paying for the $10k 802a package on the Gen 2, your $10k is going towards the SC and the 707 HP on the TRX.

The Raptor is more capable off-road, has better fuel range, and offers more technology at $75k than the TRX, but some people don’t care about those things and don’t want their truck sounding like a weed eater as they hit the gas. This is why I said the argument can be made either way as people prioritize different things in a $75k truck. My family member that ordered his TRX has his own race cars and races in the ARCA series. He cares about one thing: going fast on pavement and the satisfaction of being able to smoke 99.99% of trucks on the road today. Going off-road and having fancy technology options does not appeal to him whatsoever. So it goes.

But please continue because this is getting comical :D

I don't suppose that mileage is a concern for you. :) Plenty of petrol in that part of the world.

Exactly and even off-road millage is not a big concern we do not have huge spaces like you guys and our off-road runs are for a few hours only.

After selling the Raptor and getting the F-150,
I really started missing the Rappy and the boost.

So the TRX is definitely on my list, but it all depends on the price.
