You are 100% correct, I dont have a ton of off road experience (3000 mi of experience to be exact), this is my first truck and I know I wanted a truck I can off road and learn , have fun at high speeds. It's the reason I bought a raptor and not a platinum F150 that has the same H.O EcoBoost. Most ppl I know that dont care about off road and want hp bought a roush SC F150 or a base 5.0 or EcoBoost and modded it to their liking.

Also you seem to be confusing about the trx trim levels , just because it's not a launch edition doesn't mean it is not a 85k-90k build. Yes the one they got on TFL has nice interior package but it is not the base level trim like you are implying.

I think Roman said they paid $80k for theirs. So I don’t know all the options they selected, but it’s not fully loaded. I don’t think anyone has had a base TRX ($70k) on video before, so we will have to see how it looks. I am pretty sure my family member went for luxury package 1 with the technology add on. I am not sure if the massive screen is standard for all TRXs.

Yes, the 12in screen is standard. So two options put the trx at 80k ( 80,805 to be exact)

Lol, no because they did in fact point out ALL the options the trx DIDNT have compared to the raptor at the same price point. They also didnt bring up the raptor being " bare bones in the motor department "

Again, they arent imply they got the same truck like somebody on this site has.

I think their comparison is fine, only problem I see is paying $77K for that Raptor. Roman probably paid the highest price he could and it conveniently is right in line with his TRX price, who would’ve thunk? I paid $71K for my 802A fully optioned beside the carbon fiber. Easily could have been a $70K loaded raptor versus a level 1 group $80K TRX, but that’s not how TFL rolls.

I can't take anyone seriously that is rating an offroad truck based on " the plastics being plastic-y". give me a break.

Furthermore, their comparison videos rank the suspension articulation on the TRX as better, even though in the footage, the raptor has all wheels on the ground when articulating, and the TRX is lifting a tire.

lol well, we have been talking past one another. I did not say you were getting the same truck. I was making a GENERAL comparison as different things are being prioritized for the money: more HP and TQ for TRX or a better all-around vehicle with more features for the Raptor.

As I already said, 450 HP is a lot of power. But TFL did note that the Raptor is at least a full second slower (if not more) compared to the TRX which is pretty significant given that’s the TRX weighs 700lbs more. So the Raptor does come across as being bare (deficient, lacking, or whatever you want to call it).

@zombiekiller I agree. A lot of people rave about Ram’s interiors, but the Raptor’s interior is perfect for an off-road truck.

To be fair, TFL bought it in November of 2020 when the prices were sky high. So anyone that had a Raptor was selling it for MSRP. I agree with you though, no way I would pay $77k for that truck.

Just for kicks, I went online a couple weeks ago to see what new Raptors were available and I counted roughly 130 on Cars.com and out of those, nearly all of them were Shelby, Roush, or Tuscany modeled Raptors, so they were all around $90-120k. Lol I saw one Shelby Raptor listed for $175k in Cali.
