I am so anxious with electronic or battery issue that each time I use keypad , I take in my pocket or bag, the "extra "metal key which is in the gloves box from dealer or factory...:happy175:
It's not a big deal if I loose it and cheap to build again.
I must trust electronic, I must trust electronic, I must..........Ok, next time , I let everything in the truck...
If the battery is dead it won't start anyway. If emergency entrance is needed, there's usually a rock or two nearby .... :)

For me, the Keyless entry pad is one of the most useful features in my opinion. Wish my '19 Mustang GT had it. All of the other 5 Ford/Lincoln vehicles of mine have it.

Hap, I'm pretty sure that you can add the keyless entry to your 2019 Mustang GT. I've added them in the past to my trucks that didn't have them (all the way back to a 2001) They mount with sticky tape, wireless and you just program them with the instructions provided. Really an easy process. The unit just works like a garage door opener taped to your truck. Check with your dealership parts guy.

Def agree. All my F-series trucks have had the door keypad. I haven't carried keys on me in years. They stay in the truck 24/7 and I use the keypad to get in ... or my phone.

BB, thanks for that info, I did not know about this option. I'll check it out.

Have NEVER used the door keypad on any Ford I’ve owned. Waste of money/something else to break IMO. Fob or phone always with me. Doesn’t seem like the smartest idea to leave the keys locked in the truck. Theft anyone?

Ford's keypad is one of their best features and they use it across their lineup. It's been around for 25+ years, yet the other manufacturers don't really use it. Very odd.

Left the keys in and the truck running many times (dozens at least) for decades and numerous trucks- no theft yet.

Theft has everything to do with where you live. I don't worry about it where I live.
