Hi all,

When starting my truck in the mornings, I've either been getting a loud pretty consistent squealing sound, or at times more of a squeaky chirp.

I love in Norther Maine, so it is frigid up here, but I've never heard any other truck I've owned do this, and actually I don't think I've ever heard any truck make the consistent squealing sound, but I'm not a gear head. I noticed in the Raptor R forum people are experiencing the squeaking as well. I was going to post this in that thread, but figured it wouldn't be appropriate since this isn't a Raptor R.

Has anyone dealt with this before? I'll be bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow morning (they replaced the belt a few weeks ago), as it did the long consistent squealing sound again this morning. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it on video this morning.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated, this may be a nothing burger, but figured I'd ask you all that know these truck much better than I.

Thanks!
Erik

This is the first time it did it about 3 weeks ago.

Then it started the chirp.

As stated above, this morning it did what it was doing in the 1st video.

Thanks for the reply, I agree, the dealer replaced the belt and the noise in the 2nd video went away. However, I had never heard the noise in the 2nd video until the noise in the first video occurred, so has to be connected I would think.

I haven't been able to find anyone yet who can tell me what they think the noise in the 1st video is lol!

Sounds like a harmonic issue from whatever was wrong with the belt drive.

IDK. Is it some kind of local option; moose repellant?

Does it change pitch when you give it gas? More tham likely a pulley issue.

I've also had this happen once a month or two ago. Same exact noise 2022. Started when truck was remoted started stopped after about 20 minutes.

I have a 2023 with 11k miles on it that makes the same sound when cold but not now that the air is warming up. Typically disappears within a minute of start up as the truck warms up.

@muddyh2o did you have to fight the dealer to get those repairs done?

On first visit dealer said no sound replicated even though I asked them to specifically check the pulleys and belt. They’ve asked me to bring it back this week to leave overnight but now that it’s warm the sound has essentially disappeared. If I can’t replicate the sound myself then leaving it with the dealer seems pointless so I may wait until winter as the truck itself runs strong.

Anyone having this issue with warmer weather?
