At the end of the day, if the delays are due to quality issues, i'd much rather have them rectify the problems before i get the truck then to have a truck with problems that i can't enjoy.

Does it suck the truck isn't here yet? of course.
But it would suck more to have the truck and you have to take it back to the dealer to sit there while they diagnose/fix your brand new vehicle.

I don't think the hold up is quality issues. (Just my opinion, could be wrong) I think ford is just trying to flush the 23 inventory before releasing the 24s. Now if it is a QC issue that would probably sway me to just wait for my 37 whether it's later this year or a 25 model. I'd rather have a truck that came off the line right than tweaked in a parking lot somewhere.

Every news article recently has stated Ford is holding the trucks because of quality issues. I'm not sure why we think otherwise at this point.
If Ford was just holding the trucks to help 23 inventory, I wouldn't think using "Quality Issues" as the excuse would be the best choice. That could easily sway potential buyers away from their product

The news also said there was chip holds, hud hold etc. Which wasn't the case. It looks alot better for ford to leak QC than we screwed the pooch and built too many trucks last year and can't get rid of them. The financing, rebates, dealer stair step program support that theory.

And one of the biggest concerns recently with buyers is QC. So Ford saying we're paying extra attention to QC is actually to their benefit.

Yeah I have seen tons of articles saying ford wants to have quality compared to brands like Toyota… I think it it’s little of both. Why not use some extra time and make sure they don’t have to send out massive recalls costing $$$ for service and in the meantime lower finance rates and increase incentives on the leftover 23s to clear excess inventory… it’s a win win either way they won’t say anything directly especially if they are trying to clear inventory

And to your point… most of these internet articles that folks come across have conflicting, sensationalized, or incorrect information. Case in point… see article referenced on previous page 100… it states at one point that “Ford also has an incentive to produce as many vehicles as possible, even if they are not ready to reach the hands of dealers and customers. According to automotive analyst John McElroy, vehicles are recorded as a sale for Ford the moment they leave the factory and not when they reach a dealership. Ford is happy to pay for the storage fees of these vehicles if it allows it to meet revenue guidance provided to Wall Street”. This, IMO, is very misleading. I’m pretty confident Ford doesn’t get to recognize revenue until control is transferred… which is generally when the vehicle actually ships… BUT with a BOL to the customer (Dealer). NOT when they put it on one of the hold lots… be it for whatever reason… QC, general hold, or whatever. That, BTW, is GAAP rules and can be validated in Fords 10-K SEC filings. I don’t think Ford’s cash register is ringing on those F-150’s just yet. But… my bet is on March being a big ship month to hit or positively impact Q1 projections… Snipped the attached from 2023 Q4 10-K for reference.
