So driving this morning and noticed the oil pressure gauge seemed lower than in used to. So i pulled up the measurements page and during normal light throttle driving, my oil pressure was at 24psi. If i got on the gas it would ramp up to 70psi. What do you guys think? Are your new 21s like this?

Im just asking because my 2018 f150 [non raptor] the gauge was always in the middle and never really fluctuated like im seeing here.

Thanks!

Same here. Something I watch will run Like 23-28 psi normal driving and 67-70 stepping on the gas. This is on my 2018.

Same. Gen 2 was like that and Gen3 as well. I remember seeing it 1st in my gen2 and had me worried. My 1965 mustang has higher oil pressure at idle!

Not 100% sure on the motor in the Raptor but most engines have oil pumps that are rotated and driven by the engine's crankshaft, or a pulley and belt/chain which is attached to the crankshaft in some fashion, so as engine/oil pump rotation speed increases so does the oil pressure.

Thanks for the posting of this. I got my Gen3 last week. After I got somewhat over the excitement of finally having her in my possession I noticed the oil gauge. I was like WTF! Good to know this is normal. BTW I did my 66 mustang on a rotisserie. It now has a 302 in it. Oil Pressure always around 75. That’s an old school mechanical pump tho.

Not a 21, but same gen., 22. New to me is while on first road trip, was the oil pressure fluctuations at same RPM and speed. Almost every 30-60 secones. No other warnings, so I assume normal ops? Two stage oil pump? Thanks for feedback.
