t. The factory offering a package will save the customer a lot of money and headache, and - like you said - make upgrading to even bigger tires possible.

Without knowing the cost of the 37s package, not sure how you can conclude it will save customers money...unless you factor in the wear on the vehicle without the package.

Ok ok. After looking it over more. I can see where it’s moving me. And it’s growing on me. That 5 link with 37” tires and imagining the after market for that set up it’s interesting for sure. And getting more than 5-7mpg is a great option. I wonder what tuning that 3.5 will bring. And what does it weigh ? Is it still lighter than trx

Fenders are what, 5K alone? It is mass production in a nutshell - when you build a bunch you save money buying/producing in bulk. It will cost the customer more to do the same. Even if the 37 package was 10k, you'd break even in the long run. And I'd be shocked if it was that much.

Probably right. There seems to be confusion about whether the 37s has a different frame, or slight frame modification to accommodate the spare. I would think that would add a lot of cost to the package, but probably not THAT much.

The fact that you can do 37s without risking warranty coverage would be a big factor.

I am just wondering if GEN2 aftermarket bumpers, parts, etc will work on the GEN3. I got a garage full of parts that I haven’t even installed yet

I will admit that after looking at the available info this morning and reading about the delay in offering a V8 until 2022, I was sort of let down, but the more I think about it, the more I think that even if both the V8 and Ecoboost were available at launch, I might still choose the Ecoboost.

Ford has already said the new Ecoboost will have improved torque over the Gen 2 which makes me think it will have improved horsepower numbers as well. I'll guess somewhere in the 480-500 hp range, and while I know gas mileage is not the important thing to most of us, me included, I do like the extra range that comes with better mileage. Ford has said the new Raptor will still mange a 500 mile range, and compared to the barely 300 mile range in the TRX and likely a similar range in a Predator powered Raptor R, that makes a difference, especially out in the middle of nowhere.

The all new rear and improved front suspension are a pretty big improvement as are the available 37" tires, and when combined with the Raptor's likely 500lb weight advantage over the TRX, should make the Gen 3 Raptor actually outperform the TRX in everything other than a drag race. I think that once people really start off roading the TRX, they will find is that huge horsepower and torque, in a bind or under stress off road, are mostly good for breaking driveline parts.

I'm not completely sure if I like the new front end look on the Gen 3 as well as my Gen 2, but it may grow on me, and I do like the new F150 interior and the available generator system that will also be available in the Raptor.

Time will tell, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of the Ecoboost Gen 3 Raptor which should be quicker, more capable, and more comfortable than my Gen 2 which I already like, and if it its just about being fast on pavement or in a drag race, I already have a 750hp supercharged Mustang for that.
