2020 Sync 3 Update

Does the truck need to stay on while doing this or will it update behind the scenes if you power it down?

The way I see it from reading the directions is that it has to be running... just like when doing a software update.
Its supposed to take about an hour and thats why Im gonna wait till I actually go on a drive instead of idling in the driveway.

Good idea, rather not idle for all that time either. If it just had to be on, I would hook up a battery charger to it and let it be.

Did the maps update. Now running 1.18.
Went smoothly and took over an hour.
The system does reboot a couple of times during the process but just let it do its thing.
Eventually you get the final message that says its been updated and the message stays up until you acknowledge and then do a restart.
All done

Just my preference not to idle for that long. Really doesn’t hurt it to do so.
The point of not letting it idle for an hour though was to instead do the update when i was going to be driving somewhere anyway. I’m glad I did it while already driving somewhere because it actually took around 90 minutes.

Have you ever been able To? Chrome at times doesn’t play well with it. Clear your cache. Otherwise logging in is normally ok. It’s when your using the site it’s quirky.
