In general the further east and south you go, until you get to FL, the less expensive the trucks tend to be. When I bought my early 2018 in California the truck had a, no kidding, $25k dealer markup on the sticker, the window sticker was $95,300 for a $70k MSRP and optioned truck. No, I did not pay anything like that, but it does show what they thought their bargaining point should start at at the time.

I had done research, and at that time about the best deal I could get was right at MSRP or very slightly below in Ohio, Missouri, and Louisiana. So MSRP was possible at the time, but I would have to travel if I wanted to see the truck first. Below MSRP was a pipe dream at the time, although 12 months later it was pretty common. Even if we had known that prices would be down that much in a year (and while surely possible, it was not known), my wife was not going to wait, she wanted the truck, and wanted it soon.

I figured out what it would all cost me to buy out of state, travel to see the truck, hotels rooms, food, bringing the truck into CA, etc. I added that to MSRP, and that became my "number". I would be willing to pay over MSRP (for the first time in my life) but only that amount over MSRP.

When I walked up to the truck, pointed to the sticker, and told the salesmen that I was not paying anything like that number, and unless they could move WAY off that number I should leave right now, he told me "no problem, that is the starting number for people willing to pay that". Their first couple responses were not far off that mark, but once they figured out I was not going to be talked into overpaying that much they moved down pretty quick.

I got the truck for my number, which still means I paid over MSRP, but only about the same amount over MSRP that it would have cost me to buy the truck out of state at MSRP.

T!

$2k below invoice.

Recently bought my son a truck from there, prices were better than everywhere else I looked. They are in an older building (less overhead) and no where near the highway (less visible), so they can afford to sell for less and need to sell for less in order to attract customers.

Hopefully that is legit. Covert Ford here has a White 2020 listed at $6k off sticker on their boiler plate website. I called about it and got the "Oh we screwed up and discounted it like a regular F-150." This was yesterday.

I had talked to them last year and they actually were doing $6k off sticker. I guess that ship has sailed.

It's not just about whether there is or isn't a 2021. Most dealers wouldn't even realize that's a likelihood. This is more simple. Inventory levels are super low after factories shut down for COVID. As a result, values especially on specific trims are climbing because if you want something very specific you'll pay for it. With the Raptor this is even more the case. They can ask whatever they want because there are car carriers showing up with new Raptors. If someone wants one, especially with specific options, they need to pay what the dealer is asking.
