LOL! Ford is definitely not unique in their oil consumption tolerance. ALL ICE vehicle manufacturers have similar; what would be shocking to average people, oil consumption tolerance. And Ford is also not unique in calling out oil check intervals in their owners manuals.

It’s more an issue of us consumers being lazy than it is of manufacturers somehow trying to screw us.

Turbo vehicles seem to use more oil than most. My subie and turbo 911 both needed to be checked and normally needed a 1/2 quart between services.

That said I don’t think that’s what’s going on here in this case at all.
