So I put in a Cold Air Intake and Corsa Muffler. The CA I came with a plastic tube to insert for one of the sensors.
Every time I accelerated hard the check engine light would come on. I clear the P40... fail and wait till next time light came on. Hassle !!
Now since the kit I installed has an open Air box I can hear the turbo whistle louder then ever. Although it sounds cool its taking in too much air. I first experimented with cardboard restricting the front Ram air intake just under hood. I restricted about 40% of the forced air intake and the check engine light no longer came on. I fabricated a baffle using one of the plastic bed liner rubber covers over bed tie downs since it has a lip on it.
First take off factory front scoop back to air box. On the small opening that fits into air box is where you will make your baffle.
cut the rubber circular cover in half with a razor blade and the gasket will fit over the small end of intake tubing. Attach both half’s leaving the opening in
the middle. Use black duct tape and go over the top one half at a time. Trim tape up to plastic stop on baffle tubing. Do same to other half. Use one 1/4 inch wrap Of black duct tape around whole opening.
If you take your time and trim tape with a razor blade it looks nice. I then took off about One quarter more off Of one of the halves.
Reinstall Raim air tubing into air box. It will be tighter so go slow using a small pry bar with gentle pressure.
put clips that hold scoop down to radiator shrouding and your done. I
can still hear the turbo whistle and no more check engine light.
And yes the slash cut on plastic tube given by CAI manufacturer was in properly. I believe that fix works with a closed air box type CAI not open ones.
GOOD LUCK , Thought I’d share.
oh and PS: the Corsa muffler gives you a slightly louder then stock with absolutely no drone. Best one out there for 3.5
