Yes/No.... IMO I think it looks too plain without the applique, but you know what they say about opinions.

I prefer the applique. When I bought my truck, the one they had that had everything I wanted had the other tailgate. I went with it anyway, and swapped the blue logo for a painted black one. It looks good, but I still think I'd swap if it wasn't so expensive to get a new tailgate, or I could find someone with a magnetic truck to trade me tailgates.

I actually searched out a 800a without the applique. I'm not big of body cladding... Reminds me of a pontiac

I think it depends on color or the truck. I like the bare tailgate on the gray, looks mean

The big stamped F-150 turned me off to the appliqué delete. Completely a personal decision on this one. But I like the matte gray against the ruby red:
