I notice a bit of waviness in the body panels, especially at the door handle surrounds and a very light, almost invisible wave that spans across the width of the hood on mine. You need to be standing on the running board at a specific angle under certain lighting conditions to even see the hood wave. I picked the thing up with only 30 miles on it a month ago, so I know it wasn't in an accident or anything.

I agree with @ME120 that, for $74k, fit and finish should be a little better. I am using mine as a truck, though, and will be hauling stuff - sod, soil, mulch, lumber, etc., so it won't exactly be a full time pavement princess. Whatever KBB's trade value is, I'll probably be able to drive a good deal if I want to trade later this year on another (probably leftover) Raptor. I really don't see too many of these things running around on a daily basis which is the best part for me.

So far, though, it is a kickass truck, especially in the looks department, only wish the bed was a little longer. But I can make it work.

Unfortunately your body panels issue is due to mass production and attention to detail, $ 74,000.00 truck.

Yeah the Raptor is faster than the LC/LX and can definitely Baja drive faster. Slower hard core off road/rock climbing, I’d put the LC/LX over the Raptor for sure.

Good luck with your decision and keep us updated!!

You asked about your raptor being worth $ 28,000 in 6-7 years ? Go check out the new thread titled " $ 10,000.00 off MSRP for 2019 raptors". Maybe not $ 28,000.00, but you will be lucky to recover 50 cents on the dollar. You have to remember that once incentives kick on a particular model and model year it kills vehicle value. Car dealers depreciate your vehicle from the " incentive- $ 10,000 under MSRP Price" not the MSRP number that you might have actually. Talk about legal theft.

I never mentioned Prius. But I guess you don't know what a Landcruiser is
...

You’re right, you didn’t. I mentioned the prius because it seems like a better fit.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not a raptor hater. I am on my second raptor. I now own a 2019 raptor and I love the truck. Luckily after 16,000 miles I have had no problems. What I do not like is Ford flooding the market with raptors over greed and being more concerned with volume than quality. The opposite is true with Toyota/Lexus in TAHARA Japan plant where the first priority is building a quality vehicle that can go off road and is built to last 25 years

Really? because you’re obsessing over your perceived value loss vs. the actual value loss and pretty frequently looking to other vehicles as better. The thing about vehicle to vehicle comparisons is that they’re largely subjective. You sound like your mind is pretty well made up.

Yep. I looked at a 2019 LC with 9050 miles today. It is priced right and in excellent condition. Now I am just deciding between the LX or LC, and if I can give up the performance of the raptor. But if ford is basically going to treat it like a mass produced XLT, to me it really isn't special.[/QUOTE]

You should definitely sell the Raptor and buy the Land Cruiser. Or the prius, or whatever makes you happy, because this level of dread isn’t healthy. With sincerest intentions, good luck and I do hope your next vehicle meets your value holding requirements.

Take the blue oval glasses off and stop drinking the ford kool aid. This has nothing to do with " perceived" value. My numbers are based on actual facts and research and unfortunately people tend to get butt hurt when they realize what they have is not worth what it should be or what they thought it was, myself included.

By the way before you run your mouth about the LC you might want to do your homework about the build quality and where it is built and compare it to the raptor build quality and then get back to me.

I must have missed your post illustrating the diminished value from sources like Kbb, edmunds or similar resources. If I did miss that, please accept my apologies. I didn’t see anything posted in this thread documenting an actual effect corresponding to your posts. I did recall this post from @JohnC12, in relevant part:

Here’s what I found: (in order of greatest depreciation)
Dodge Ram Limited
MSRP: $62,475
KBB: $43,802
Diff: $18,673
Depreciation: 30%

Toyota Tundra Platinum
MSRP: $54,465
KBB: $40,656
Diff: $13,809
Depreciation: 25%

Chevy 1500 High Country
MSRP: $56,690
KBB: $45,964
Diff: $10,726
Depreciation: 19%

Ford Raptor
MSPR: $72,520
KBB: $62,343
Diff: $10,177
Depreciation: 14%

How is this drinking blue oval kool aid?

By the way before you run your mouth about the LC you might want to do your homework about the build quality and where it is built and compare it to the raptor build quality and then get back to me.

I’ve never spoken to you, so when did I run my mouth about the land cruiser?
I didn’t even use my out loud keystrokes to criticize the land cruiser.

You clearly think this vehicle superior and I’m in no position to dispute this for your specific wants and needs; I don’t own one, don’t know anyone who owns one and I have no intention of pursuing one.

So again, I’m just encouraging you to get rid of the vehicle you’re not satisfied with and replace it with one that better meets your needs and hopefully provides more satisfaction to you.

@ME120

You're a slow learner. I thought this thread was garbage from the initial post, but tried to let it take its natural course. I have put it out of it's misery. Sell the Raptor, get something else and bless another Forum with your wisdom please.
