Thanks!! It’s a 23 ft. Didn’t want to go any bigger than that. Once you get to the 25’ and up, they’re also about 5 and a half inches wider.

how does it tow? Curious what MPG, and speed you tow at.

Tows great and substantially better than my Gen-1 did (6.2). Trailer weight is about 6,000 lbs, so not terribly heavy. Usually tow between 60-65 mph and get 13 mpg or so.

GP...why the extra tie downs to the front and rear? are the kayaks not stable just strapped to the rack? are you going to a point under the gap of the hood or is there a bracket or something? thanks for clarifying.

No not at all. You’ll see most people with kayaks have those ties downs. There’s not a lot of pressure on those. They’re really more as an added safety measure than anything else. Search “Thule hood loop strap 529” on Amazon to get a better idea of what the strap looks like. They mount to the bolt heads under the hood. Super simple install.
