That does not appear to be a chip/flake caused by a defect; it has the characteristics of an abrasion/damage. As the others mentioned, you may be able to touch it up yourself.
I lack the fine talent to correct something like that and make it match. I think @Bhollier did a pretty full trim pull and paint and I think if I were in your shoes I’d pull it, try to get a body shop to paint match and air brush the whole thing. I can air brush but corrections are just too much of a chore to me.

Just curious and asking those that have tried this, did the trim piece really just pull off the wheel? I watched a couple of videos where they had to remove the airbag and the wheel to do this. Looks like if you pop the trim and unplug the connectors the airbag and wheel may not have to be removed.pull carefully, the trim piece comes right out. no screws
