Wear bands and seals also wear. The Vit-on seals Fox and Icon use and that king uses in their race shocks require much faster rebuild intervals

Viton does not require more frequent rebuilds.

The wear band fox uses in their OEM replacement shocks long outlasts the fluid change interval, it’s a white hard plastic like material. It’s not the standard brass wear band used in the race shocks. Which, those don’t really wear faster than the fluid either in a non-race application.

Yes, they absolutely do require more frequent rebuilds. Call King and they will give you the same answer that their pure race shocks require more frequent seal changes than their performance shocks, simply because of the seal differences.

Fox has now gone to their factory (race) series shocks for all the new OEM replacement raptor shocks. They are in fact metallic wear bands.

Lol, ok. It's a hydraulic shaft seal and viton orings, nothing special. Metal Wear bands in our trucks will still outlast everything else.
