Ok, whatever shocks, as discussed in this thread the next person says to buy, im gonna buy.

Yes. At the end of my cross country tour I stopped by SVC Off-road with flattened rear leafs and what appeared to be a loss of .5” off the stock front springs with JC Pony perches. My truck sat more like a standard F150 and well below an FX4.

The following day I picked up the truck from SVC and let me tell you, the truck handles better (excellent steering response), rides smoother, turns better, rolls less, dives less, makes less noise and the bed doesn’t collapse to the tires with 500# of gear in the back, can’t wait to tow with it.

I cannot say enough for the King 3.0 fronts and Deaver +3HDs. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and when he got into specifics about the needle design of the Kings it instantly reminded me the Ohlin DFVs on my Miata track car, great stuff!!

The front steering used to lose responsiveness above 80 and now its more akin to a purpose built closed course or desert setup.

You will love this setup!

Dude. I want those KINGS soo much.. I envy your story w SVC. My bumpers, UCA"s, are SVC..They make really nice stuff!!
Tell me about the KING'S and the hd vs regular Deavers..

Ok. The shocks that have been discussed her are Kings, Fox 3.0, Icons and Sway-Aways. All of them are premium shocks and are rebuildable. All have ride qualities that can be tuned to just about any driver's satisfaction. My question is what is the service life between rebuilds for these shocks. For example Fox 3.0 recommends theirs be rebuilt every 10k for off road use. What about mixed use?

Most of us will spend a lot more time on pavement than off. In mixed use the factory Fox shocks will go/should go 35-50K between rebuilds. What about the premium shocks? If I'm putting $6K+ into shocks and maybe another $1,500 into control arms I think longevity becomes an issue.

Here’s a screen shot from the tuning guide for fox factory shocks. Seems to be similar to what you have mentioned. About 50k for 100% street use and 10k for 50% street and 50% Offroad use.

The rebuild interval is mainly fluid life. If you offroad a lot (2-3 times a month) you're going to be rebuilding them more. And it's basically going to be the same regardless of whose shocks you have. The 10k/50k interval is probably a good rule of thumb for any shocks on these trucks.

However, both King and FOX oem fluid isn't that great. If you rebuild with Redline or Schaeffers fluid, you can go longer on rebuilds without issue. These fluids are a bit thinner than king and fox fluid, so you may have to play with valving, or adjust the clicker a bit from where you previously had it.

What Southern California shop can service fox 3.0's and revalve the fronts? What I am looking for is more rebound dampening for the front shocks.

Wear bands and seals also wear. The Vit-on seals Fox and Icon use and that king uses in their race shocks require much faster rebuild intervals
