When did you place your order vs when the build started?

May 18th. However Jul 17th was the first build date for 2018's. I don't have mine yet. Allegedly it's on the train as of yesterday. Yours should be quicker once you get your VIN.

What you first need is to find out which allocation you are with the dealer. Ask the dealer's Inventory Manager. He is the one in charge of allocation. If you are the next allocation your build will be sooner than if you are the third allocation.

Then the Inventory Manager needs to find out from the Ford rep when the dealer's Raptor allocations will become available.

Priority means little until you get allocated. Once allocated you take your turn in the allocation queau. Once you are at the top of that list you'll get a VIN. After the VIN comes your window sticker. The window sticker has your blend date, which means your build date.

Read the threads that were recommended. It'll come eventually if the dealer has allocation and if one of those allocations is yours.

Best.

Cotus doesn't work for Raptors. You have to go to Ford Perf directly.

Guys...just go to the inventory manager at your Ford dealer. They are the ones with the best tools to give you this information. They can also push their local Ford rep to give them more allocations, or an earlier release date for existing allocations. The Ford rep has the power to release existing allocations and to give out new ones.

Make the inventory manager your friend :)

Continuing progress. The choo-choo has gotten my 2018 Raptor from Dearborn to Gibson IN (east Chicago). 250 miles travelled, another 450 miles to go.

Don't worry I will go down there and rattle their cage if they leave you hanging. I placed my order on June 3 and had my VIN in 3 -4 weeks. I was first in line for the 2018 allocations and the truck was built on July 19th. Now if they would just ship the thing before I have to go up there and drive it home! LOL

If u read the post I quoted he said go in there, so ya. But way to be helpful!

Actually I wrote the post you reference above. If you would read the posts that I've written to help you, you would see that.

When I recommended you guys to "go to the inventory manager" I didn't specify a physical visit. It is the IM's job to manage the inventory. Go to him/her.

My salesman was worthless...I asked to speak to the "decider" at the dealership and from that point on have only worked with the inventory manager.

Best of luck with the process.

My sales guy introduced my to the IM. But in a small dealership, the IM's office was 20ft from the sales guys desk.

I had a lot of questions on the allocations and such and he said let me introduce you to the guy that can make everything happen with your Raptor order. The IM told me I would be their first order when they rec'd their allocations unless the owner had a different idea since I was their first order. He told me earliest delivery would probably be late September maybe October to temper my expectations. But I went in first, 18 production has gone smooth and the last update from my sales guy was today, he says it's ETA is the 19th....tick tock.
