Let me ask this about these new fobs, will the truck let you lock the fob inside the truck and then use the keypad to unlock it? I currently have the old-fashioned remote fob for my 2011 and I lock my keys in the car ALL the time so I don't have to carry them.

I currently have a '17 F250, which has the same fob as the '18 Raptor, and I can lock my keys in the truck using the keypad. I do it all the time. Just press the bottom two buttons on the keypad to lock the truck and then enter your code to unlock.

Perfect. I'd have hated to lose that feature. Thanks.

If you do this on a 2017 Raptor, if you pull on the door handle, won't the doors unlock?
There are two sensors on the door handle, one on the inside of the handle, and one on the outside, which is a small rectangle.
If my truck is locked, and my keys are in my pocket, and I place my hand on the driver door handle while touching one of these sensors, and the doors will unlock.

I just went out to my '17 F250 Lariat Ultimate, which has push button start and the new style key fob, to verify my locking method. I put my key in the center console and then locked the door using the keypad. I was unable to open the door by pulling on the handle like I normally would with the fob in my pocket. I had to enter my unlock code to get into the truck.

The proximity sensor can tell quite accurately where the key is and it won't unlock the truck unless it is outside the truck and by the door trying to be opened. A pretty slick piece of engineering.

Cool, thanks for going through the process. Good to know.

I just spent big dollars customizing my fob, and now I am regretting my choice.
