Hello, just got the new key on the mail but i can't get it to work. Called my local ford dealer and they told me it can't be done because the new key has a different frequency. How did you guys got this to work?

Okay, I just did this except for getting the new key blade cut. Then I got to thinking, which is always dangerous! So someone please let me know if this is faulty thinking: there's no need for a key blade because I can get into the vehicle with the driver's door keypad. And then place the battery-dead key fob in the front cup holder location to start the truck.

It’s to get in your truck if the main battery is dead as well

This method is Wrong! Missing a step, use the instructions put out below......

Just got my key today. Works Flawlessly on my 2017. Programming is possible to do yourself as long as you have both original keys. Ive included instructions below on how to program your new fob. Both links I've posted earlier work and are correct. Ive added them below aswell. You need to purchase both parts.

Key Fob:
17-18 Ford F-150 RAPTOR Smart Keyless Remote Key Entry F150 Fob Transmitter OEM | eBay

Key blade:
New 164-R8168 OEM Proxy Smart Key Blade Emergency Insert Replacement for Ford

PROGRAMMING NEW KEY FOB
1. Gather BOTH programmed keys and your new un programmed key. Start inside vehicle with vehicle turned off.
2. Place the first programmed key in the backup position
3. Press Start\Stop button
4. Count to three maybe four seconds (one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand)
5. Press Start\Stop button
6. Swap first programmed key with second programmed key (quickly)
7. Press Start\Stop button
8. Count to three maybe four seconds (one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand)
9. Press Start\Stop button
10. Swap second programmed key with the un-programmed key (quickly)
11. Press Start\Stop button
12. Door locks will cycle and dashboard light up and dashboard counsel stated “Key Programming Successful”

I received delivery today, followed wrong instructions, after replacing battery and trying Ford's method I found the above correct method and it worked easily. Works! Thanks
